چرا کیف اضطراری لازم است؟ | Why Every Car Needs an Emergency Kit
Breakdowns, accidents, and road emergencies rarely give advance warning. A well-stocked emergency kit in your vehicle can protect your safety, help you handle minor issues yourself, and keep you comfortable while waiting for professional assistance. This checklist covers everything a driver in Iran should carry, whether driving in the city or on long intercity routes.
وسایل ایمنی | Safety Essentials
These items protect you and alert other road users to your presence:
- Warning triangles (مثلث خطر): Carry at least two. Iranian traffic regulations require them. Place them 30–100 metres behind your vehicle depending on road speed.
- High-visibility vest (جلیقه شبرنگ): Wear this whenever you exit the vehicle on a road or highway. Dramatically increases your visibility to other drivers.
- Torch/flashlight with spare batteries (چراغقوه): Essential for night breakdowns, inspecting under the bonnet, or signalling for help.
- Fire extinguisher (کپسول آتشنشانی): A small dry-powder extinguisher rated for vehicle fires. Required by law in Iran and genuinely life-saving.
ابزارهای تعمیر | Basic Repair Tools
- Spare tyre in good condition (with correct pressure — check monthly)
- Jack and wheel brace/lug wrench
- Jumper cables (کابل استارت) — minimum 3 metres long, with clear positive/negative labelling
- Tyre pressure gauge (فشارسنج لاستیک)
- Tyre sealant spray (as a temporary flat fix, not suitable for blowouts)
- Basic toolkit: adjustable wrench, pliers, flathead and Phillips screwdrivers
- Duct tape and cable ties (surprisingly useful for temporary fixes)
مایعات اضطراری | Emergency Fluids
- Engine coolant (ضدیخ / آب رادیاتور): A small container for topping up in case of overheating
- Engine oil (روغن موتور): One litre of the grade your vehicle uses
- Windscreen washer fluid
- Small fuel canister — useful if you run out of fuel far from a petrol station (ensure it is stored and transported safely)
آمادگی شخصی | Personal Comfort and Medical
- First aid kit (جعبه کمکهای اولیه) with bandages, antiseptic, pain relief, and any personal medications
- Bottled water — at least 1–2 litres per person, especially important in hot Iranian summers
- Non-perishable snacks (dates, nuts, energy bars) for long waits
- Warm blanket — critical for winter breakdowns, particularly in mountainous regions
- Portable phone charger/power bank (charged)
- Cash — for paying roadside assistance or towing services if card payment is unavailable
اسناد مهم | Important Documents
- Vehicle registration card (کارت ماشین)
- Insurance documents (بیمهنامه)
- Technical inspection certificate (برگ معاینه فنی)
- A printed list of emergency contacts (in case your phone battery dies)
نگهداری کیف اضطراری | Maintaining Your Kit
Building the kit is only half the job. Check it every 6 months: replace expired items, test the torch, verify the spare tyre pressure, and replenish any fluids or first aid supplies you have used. A neglected kit can let you down at the worst possible moment.
